Bugbear's Next Car Game now in Early Access

December 23rd - via: shacknews.com
FlatOut creator Bugbear may have failed earlier this year to Kickstart its next crash-happy racer, which imaginatively is still codenamed Next Car Game, but hasn't given up. The game today launched an Early Access version, letting people pre-order to start playing while Bugbear finishes development. To tempt people into pre-ordering, the dev has also released an updated version of its technology test sandbox, which lets players smash cars into pretty little pieces. (Read More)

Next Car Game's Kickstarter ends in a pile-up, demo released

November 23rd - via: pcgamer.com
Bugbear have cancelled the Kickstarter for their crashtastic Next Car Game, citing the (fairly sound) reason that "it’s become obvious that we are not going to meet our goal". Fear not, however: this doesn't mark the end of the pragmatically named racing game, at least not yet - Bugbear are putting their weight behind their pre-order campaign instead. They've also released a demo, which - boo - is only available to those who've already paid for the still-might-not-be-finished game in advance. (Read More)

Next Car Game Crashes Kickstarter

November 4th - via: rockpapershotgun.com
BugBear’s Next Car Game is the spiritual successor to their FlatOut series. And by that I mean it’s covered in ectoplasm and knocking on the pipes and oh no it’s grabbed television’s Sarah Greene! But in another sense this is the game they’ve always wanted to make. One which conveys everything they’ve learned and put into their car crashing racing games, but in a new engine and without the FlatOut name. Up until a few days ago, the team had been attempting to fund it through their own pre-order website in a scheme that seemed like the spiritual successor to Kickstarter, but now they’ve moved onto an actual Kickstarter. (Read More)

Bugbear's Next Car Game still doesn't have a real name, but does have a Kickstarter

November 4th - via: pcgamer.com
I have a horrifying feeling that they're actually going to call it Next Car Game. Sure, they might not be actively planning to do so, but at some point someone at Bugbear will say, "well, it's what everyone already calls it, so why not?" But no, Bugbear, don't do it. Call it something that more accurately reflects your destruction derby intentions. Something like CAR METAL HYPER FORCE SMASH TIME. Whatever it might eventually be called, it's appeared on Kickstarter, as Bugbear look for a turbo injection to their development fund. (Read More)
