Kickstarter Game Developer Haiku Collection

September 2nd - via: cliqist.com
It’s a bit of a tradition that whenever I interview someone for Cliqist I ask them to put together a brief haiku to describe them, their company, or their game. Since we’re celebrating the one year anniversary of Cliqist this week I figure it would be as good a time as any to look back at some of them. All the haiku’s were written by the person being interviewed, and are listed in the order in which they appeared on the site. Some are great, some not so much, but each is interesting in its own right. (Read More)

Bill Tiller Discusses Monkey Island Inspired Adventure, Duke Grabowski

August 28th - via: cliqist.com
We are three experienced game developers and we are making a short graphic adventure comedy. I’m going to guess you are talking to us because the game looks cool and might be a good one. Also we have worked on some popular games like it before, such as Steven Spielberg’s The Dig, Curse of Monkey Island, Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine, The Godfather, Force Unleashed 2, A Vampyre Story, Ghost Pirates of Vooju Island, 1954: Alcatraz, and Perils of Man. (Read More)

Kickstarter Week End. What Launched Aug 3 – 9?

August 11th - via: cliqist.com
Every week (starting now at least) we take a brief look at all of the Kickstarter campaigns that launched in the previous week. This isn’t to say that all of these projects are worth your hard earned cash, but with any luck having all of them in one place will make it easier to educate yourself on the projects you’d like to back, and which ones to run from. You’ll find two types of campaigns listed, “featured” and “the rest“. Featured campaigns are those that contain a significant amount of game information, are from known developers, or are significant in some other way. The rest of the games are usually smaller campaigns that are lacking in information, are from unknowns, have unanswered questions, or have not yet stood out for one reason or another. (Read More)

Monkey Island Vet Heads Back to Adventuring on Kickstarter

August 7th - via: cliqist.com
It’s pretty much the law that as a PC gamer you must look back at the extensive library of LucasArts adventure games with fond memories. Even if you never played a minute of Grim Fandango, Monkey Island, Maniac Mansion, or any of the others; it is expected that somewhere deep in your soul you acknowledge the greatness of the LucasArts adventure titles. With those fond memories (whether or not they’re yours doesn’t matter) comes the desire to re-live those golden days of disk swapping, pc speaker booping, and absurd item collecting. Thankfully, one of the core values of Kickstarter as a company is to help recreate that gaming golden age for the modern generation; or so it seems. (Read More)
