As an RPG, DIE follows more or less the same storytelling framework, where you create a mundane real-world persona who gets sucked into the game. Howitt is a game designer, but for this game he’s describing himself more like a ringleader—Gillen has already published a beta version of the DIE RPG, based on rules included in the back pages of issues of the comic, and at nearly 150 pages, it was already the size of a core rulebook.
