BMOG Toys has taken to Kickstarter to help raise funds for their Bio-Mechanical Ordnance Gestalt line. They are building toy system that lets you make robotic animal characters from components that can be used as action figure accessories - with plenty of modern or vintage toy lines. Most of you hadn’t heard of BMOG Toys until their Kickstarter went live last week. If you still are unaware, BMOG Toys is a new project headed by Trent Troop, Alex Androski, and Greg Sepelak, and the goal is to provide 5mm peg compatible accessories for a variety of toylines. These accessories are animals that are made entirely out of individual weapons, meaning you get weapons for your existing toys as well as a new animal toy. It’s awesome. I don’t collect many Transformers these days, but if I did, I would be all over this Kickstarter project – BMOG – Bio-Mechanical Ordnance Gestalts. They’re essentially robot toys that break down into component parts that can be swapped around. Why not make them, say, Glyos-compatible, you ask? Because the pegs used to attach all these items are the near-universal Transformers size of 5mm, and each part of the robot can be used on its own as an accessory or combined to make other accessories – a gun, an axe, a hammer, and more. What we want to share with you now is a promising new third party project. This one does not infringe on any of Hasbro's existing IPs - it is a completely new project. Introducing BMOG: Bio-Mechanical Ordnance Gestalts. These Zoid-style beasts are part mechanical animal and part building system. They can break down from their combined mechanical animal forms into a selection of weapons, all with 5mm pegs, which allow the different sets to arm up your Transformers (or any other toys you might have with 5mm peg holes) or indeed you can combine the various sets to make larger beasts or robots. (Read More)
