Lacrosse 14 video game seeks funding through Kickstarter

Crosse Studios and Big Ant Studios are looking to develop a video game based on the sport lacrosse for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC, according to the game's recently-launched Kickstarter page.

The two studios are asking for $210,000 to develop Lacrosse 14, which they are hoping to publish in spring 2014. According to the campaign page, the company hopes to include a multi-year dynasty mode and competitive online multiplayer with the title, as well as high-quality graphics and a deep character customization feature. Pre-orders for the game will also include the opportunity for players to have their name and face put into Lacrosse 14.

Pittsburgh-based Crosse Studios specializes in lacrosse video games, having already launched three college lacrosse games and two licensed National Lacrosse League games for the Xbox 360. The company is also currently working on two lacrosse games for iOS and Android, Flick Lacrosse and College Lacrosse. Big Ant Studios' previous works include Rugby League Live 2 for PS3 and Xbox 360.

"This is what we have been waiting for," Carlo Sunseri, founder of Crosse Studio, said in a press statement. "Together, as a lacrosse community, we will create history by building a video game that captures the authenticity and realism of lacrosse like never before."

At the time of writing, Lacrosse 14 has made just over $16,000 of its goal.
