Drums sound in the dark. The dwarves of Moria dig too greedily and too deep. And in Moria: Through the Doors of Durin, they call.

The world is grey, the mountains cold; the forge’s fire is ashen-cold. No harp is wrung, no hammer falls. The darkness dwells in Durin’s halls. The shadow lies upon his tomb, in Moria, in Khazad-dûm.

A new expansion is sweeping Kickstarter. The One Ring RPG opens up the doors to Moria in a new expansion, fittingly titled Moria: Through the Doors of Durin. The new expansion for both the One Ring and the 5E version of the same game takes players on an epic campaign into the deep.

The Kickstarter has already been fully funded, so all that’s left is to unlock the numerous stretch goals. With a campaign running through September 14th, there’s still plenty of time to get in while the getting’s good.

Moria: Through the Doors of Durin

Moria: Through the Doors of Durin is an epic campaign expansion delving into the depths of Khazad-dûm for the award-winning second edition of The One Ring roleplaying game, based on the works of J.R.R. Tolkien. This volume will also be published in a version for the 5E edition The Lord of the Rings Roleplaying, under the title Moria: Shadow of Khazad-dûm.

For long ages, the great city of the Dwarrodelf was the seat of the Dwarven kings, and they were rich beyond measure in gold and Mithril. But a thousand years ago, Durin’s Bane arose and drove the Dwarves from their halls. The city fell into darkness, becoming an abode of Orcs, Goblins, and worse.

Countless Orcs perished in the Battle of Five Armies. Maybe the Halls of Durin lie empty once more. Maybe there are piles of treasure there, waiting to be claimed. Mithril still glimmers in the mines under Caradhras. Cross the dread threshold, adventurer, and delve deep!

The new campaign is the biggest expansion yet for The One Ring RPG. It promises a massive quest into the fallen Dwarven city, as well as a deep dive into the lore. In the books, you’ll find rules for underground exploration and Moria-themed Undertakings. Alongside this, new enemies, new maps, landmarks, and hazards.

Basically, it’s everything you have to play in the deep realms of the Third Age.

Remember, “friend” in Sindarin (and Noldorin) is “mellon”.
