A new AI-powered map-making tool has hit Kickstarter hard and is raking in the cash with over $1 million in pledges with just a week to go. Dungeon Alchemist is a new kind of map tool that gives game masters the ability to create amazing-looking maps on-the-fly without having to slave away over grid-paper or battle sheets.

Dungeon Alchemist The GM's Friend

The new app, Dungeon Alchemist, is an AI-powered map tool that really does streamline the process of creating high-quality maps. Rather than manually crafting maps, or constructing them from pre-made elements, Dungeon Alchemist uses the power of AI to procedurally generate rooms. You simply select your map size, select a theme, and start dragging squares to create rooms. You can even go in and fine-tune your maps once they've been generated. Want to change themes or move some furniture around? You can do it with Dungeon Alchemist

The Kickstarter campaign has been widely successful, hitting over $1 million dollars since it was launched on February 9th and subsequently smashing through every single one of their stretch goals. Now it seems like as well as the insanely useful features already mentioned, Dungeon Alchemist will also be shipping with a whole slew of themes, ranging from Arabian Nights-style dungeons to the high seas of adventure. You'll also be able to just hit a big-red button and generate an entire dungeon without selecting room sizes at all, for the extra lazy GM.

The Most Useful Map Tool In History

If you're a GM looking to run games with much less hassle, it's not an exaggeration to say that Dungeon Alchemist might be the most impressive and useful tool on offer. The program is planned for release in late 2021 for Windows, Mac OS, and Linux, and will be available via Steam. Let's just hope those extra features don't slow the game down too much.

You can check out the app's Kickstarter page if you want to pledge and get your hands on the app. Hurry though, the campaign ends in a week.
