Last Life surpasses $75K Kickstarter goal to fund first episode

The Kickstarter campaign for Last Life, developer Rocket Science's episodic adventure game about investigating your own murder, surpassed its funding goal this week.

As of this writing, Last Life has $77,799 in pledges of its $75,000 goal from 3,598 backers with 10 days remaining in the crowdfunding campaign.

Last Life's stretch goals begin at $100,000, at which point its developers will add voice over for all speaking characters and "interactive flashbacks of earth." At $125,000, Rocket Science will add an interactive map and a chase sequence. Raising $150,000 will fund a second episode.

"With your help, we would love to complete the Last Life trilogy," developer Sam Farmer wrote on the game's Kickstarter blog yesterday. "All backers who sign on, as this Kickstarter is still up and running, get every funded episode. Let's fund them all!

"Thank you, a million times over, for all of your support so far. I'm so excited to start this new journey with you all, and I look forward to seeing where these next 11 days take us."

Earlier this month, Double Fine Productions announced plans to help Rocket Science with "advising, distributing and helping get the word out" about the adventure game for Linux, Mac and Windows PC. We've reached out to the developer for comment and will update this story with more information as it becomes available.
