Kickstarter Katchup – 28th July 2013

July 28th - via: rockpapershotgun.com
Two big wins this week and both are projects that I’ve been intrigued by since I first saw them. Excellent news. (Read More)

Kickstarter Katchup – 21st July 2013

July 21st - via: rockpapershotgun.com
There have been plenty of weeks with no losers and several winners, but I can’t remember compiling this column and finding losers without winners to sit above them. There are lots of projects that are readying themselves for a spot in the winners’ section though, propped on the podium, parading their plaudits. Dungeonmans and Tangiers are my current favourites, with Monochroma not far behind. It’s a busy week though and there should be something for everyone. Except sports fans. Nothing for sports fans. Probably the least Kickstarted genre actually. Licensing issues to blame? (Read More)

Giana Devs Return To Kickstarter With Ravensdale

July 18th - via: rockpapershotgun.com
Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams (which I keep wanting to read as Giana: Twisted Sister because my brain is a furnace fueled solely by old-school metal) was quite good – if not, er, quite great. John enjoyed it well enough, which seems to suggest that the folks at Black Forest Games are highly capable at making things scroll sideways. They also made some serious bank on Kickstarter, both from a monetary standpoint and in the form of a much more important currency: trust. BFG (I SEE WHAT THEY DID THERE) promised and delivered, and now they aim to do so a second time. Project Ravensdale, however, isn’t exactly Giana 2: Mötley Crüe Boogaloo. (Read More)

Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams developer Black Forest Games' Kickstarter for Ravensdale is up and running (and gunning). Announced in late May (or back in 2010 if you want to get technical), Ravensdale is a run-and-gun co-op shooter in a "garage fantasy" world, where orcs and knights meet the industrial era. (Read More)
