Stuart Ryall on Surviving The Frozen Wasteland of Impact Winter

October 14th - via: cliqist.com
Impact Winter is a post-apocalyptic survival RPG in the vein of Fallout that tasks players with surviving a frozen hellscape that’s overcome much of the planet thanks to a stray asteroid. Unlike its classic brethren, survival in Impact Winter isn’t a solitary affair, there’s a group of other survivors to consider as well. The combination of role playing, survival, and group dynamics makes Impact Winter one of the most exciting Kickstarter campaigns of the season. To learn more about we spoke Impact Winters’ designer, Stuart Ryall. (Read More)

Weekly Launchpad. What Videogame Kickstarters Launched Oct 5th – 11th?

October 12th - via: cliqist.com
Every week we take a brief look at all of the Kickstarter campaigns that launched in the previous week. This isn’t to say that all of these projects are worth your hard earned cash, but with any luck having all of them in one place will make it easier to educate yourself on the projects you’d like to back, and which ones to run from. You’ll find two types of campaigns listed, “featured” and “the rest“. Featured campaigns are those that contain a significant amount of game information, are from known developers, or are significant in some other way. The rest of the games are usually smaller campaigns that are lacking in information, are from unknowns, have unanswered questions, or have not yet stood out for one reason or another. (Read More)

Fallout + Frozen Wasteland = Impact Winter

October 8th - via: cliqist.com
If you look at the history of Kickstarter you’ll find a few game types that tend to do well on the platform. Roguelikes, Metroidvanias, and Survival games seem to do disproportionately well on the platform; especially compared to the likes of first person shooters and flight sims. Given that we’re in the creepy dead of October it only seems fitting that get a new survival sim to back, and boy does this one look like it may be worth backing. (Read More)
