Hover: Revolt of Gamers Reaches Kickstarter Goal in Under Three Days

April 25th - via: hardcoregamer.com
Hover: Revolt of Gamers hit Kickstarter earlier in the week and it’s already reached its baseline goal. Sega hasn’t done much with the Jet Set Radio license outside of the HD re-release on mobile platforms, Steam, and home consoles. Now, a group of French developers is out to make a game that combines its super-colorful visuals with a bit of first-person parkour ala Mirror’s Edge. Like JSR, it’s got grail grinds, tricks, and like ME, it has an open world parkour element. The soundtrack is already pretty addictive – and it’s only a small sample of what will be in the full product. In order for the creator of JSR’s music to be involved with this, they’ll need to hit $60,000, which they’re thankfully well on the way to doing. On no budget, they’ve already crafted an epic-looking world and smooth character animation. (Read More)

Feature: Kickstarter Monthly Round Up - Issue One

April 24th - via: pushsquare.com
Crowdfunding website Kickstarter is almost certainly the only location where your laundry simulation game will make you an overnight millionaire. However, with the money lending destination’s games section looking a lot like an ant’s nest of console, computer, and mobile ventures, it can be difficult to discover new projects targeted at Sony’s suite of systems. Fortunately, we’ve got your back, and have rounded up all of the potential applicants, allowing you to spend more of your time dreaming up ideas for your own campaign – like an ironing stretch goal. (Read More)

Wee Woosh Woo in Hover

April 23rd - via: cliqist.com
Ah, I see you’ve clicked on another one of my articles with a nonsensical title. Good on you, reader, but I’m afraid that, yet again, the title makes sense if your brain makes as little sense as mine. Simply put “Wee”, “Woosh”, and “Woo” are the sounds I, and many others, made while watching the Kickstarter video for a game called Hover: Revolt of Gamers. You may have made similar sounds while playing Mirror’s Edge or Jet Set Radio, and if you enjoyed either of those, you’ll be right at home in Hover. (Read More)

Hover: Revolt Of Gamers Rules Over Them On Kickstarter

April 23rd - via: rockpapershotgun.com
Sure, it’s pegged as a cross between Mirror’s Edge and Jet Set Radio (with the latter’s composer maybe onboard), but it’s one of the items on Hover: Revolt of Gamers‘ feature list that catches my eye. “A dynamical scenarisation without interruptions.” Oh shit! I think they mean that it’ll have random missions that pop up on the fly, but they looked at the word “procedural” and said, “No, we can go further.” Dynamical. (Read More)

Hover: Revolt Of Gamers launches Kickstarter for Jet Set spiritual sucessor

April 21st - via: destructoid.com
I generally don't like to hype up games that I can't play in their final form (especially Kickstarters), but every so often something catches my eye that makes me perk up a bit. Such is the Kickstarter for Hover, a game billed as a spiritual successor to Jet Set Radio and Mirror's Edge. Yeah, I'm so in. (Read More)
