Kickstarter Katchup – 3rd February 2013

February 3rd - via: rockpapershotgun.com
It has been a week of travel, talk and teamwork for me, as I visited the Paradox Convention, met good people and then cursed loudly as they defeated me in everything from The Showdown Effect to Europa Universalis IV. (Read More)

Dear friends, Thank you so much for the support. After working so long in the dark it's exciting to see the number of people that are excited about Dreadline. Unfortunately we fell far short of our fundraising goal. Rather than dwell on what went... (Read More)

Dreadline Kickstarter ends well short of its goal

February 1st - via: vg247.com
The Dreadline Kickstarter has ended, falling well-short of its $167,000 goal, as 629 backers only pledged $23,408 towards the project. Started by studio Eerie Canal, made up of former Irrational Games and Harmonix developers, the real-time strategy, action RPG centered around a band of monsters killing humans before they were killed by other means. (Read More)

Kickstarter Katchup

January 27th - via: rockpapershotgun.com
This week, spaceships are constructed, nobody loses and the Katchup features an open source 3D engine Linux port, which certainly sounds like the sort of thing that should be happening but also makes me realise how little I know about the availability of engine licenses and the complexities of game development. Maybe I’ll ask Jim to teach me, although I reckon most of his input on Sir, You Are Being Hunted involves polite requests for ‘more robots and tea’. (Read More)

Kickstarter Katchup

January 20th - via: rockpapershotgun.com
It’s taken me longer than I’d hoped, but I’ve finally managed to exorcise the last spirits of 2012 from the Kickstarter Katchup and the 2013 instalments can now begin. The extended break has left us with a lot to katch up on so there will be a lot of winners and losers this week, covering many of the games in the last Katchup. I’m not going to list every game that failed to reach its target but all the winners will be there, as well as any that are of particular interest or have detailed plans for the future. (Read More)

Mr. Kimura Builds a New Level for DREADLINE.

January 8th - via: kickstarter.com
Level building is a very organic process. I start by sorting through online and print reference, and doing some drawings to get a feel for the architecture, and how it might work for our game. I'm not interested in accurately re-creating historical... (Read More)

EVIL BOX! Dreadline Footage Appears In Kickstarter Vid

January 7th - via: rockpapershotgun.com
Remember Dreadline? It's the RPG/RTS from an indie studio - Eerie Canal - including former Freedom Force/BioShock developers. It caught our eye last May, simply by its premise: a group of time travelling monsters who visit key moments of history to, well, kill people. (Read More)

The “Sketchy Renderer”

January 5th - via: kickstarter.com
