Developer tool App Game Kit version 2 passes Kickstarter goal

Set to support iOS, Android and Windows

Developer tool App Game Kit version 2 passes Kickstarter goal
Development tool specialist The Game Creators has launched a successful Kickstarter campaign to fund enhancements to its App Game Kit.

Originally unveiled in the summer of 2011, App Game Kit is a cross platform game development tool that allows for easy deployment to a range of popular platforms, including iOS, Android, Windows, and Mac.

With 43 days left in its Kickstarter campaign, version 2 of the firm's App Game Kit has already exceeded its funding goal of £5,000 ( around $7,700) by a wide margin, with a new wealth of features set to be added to the tool as a result.

AGK V2

The most salient of the new features in App Game Kit V2 are to be found in its 2D engine, which will now support sprite blending modes, shaders, full screen shaders, and enhanced drawing commands.

But the real magic with AGK V2 will happen when it reaches its stretch goals.

At £10,000, The Game Creators will include support for the new Ouya unconsole and several animation enhancements like the support of Spine, a popular sprite animation tool.

If the Kickstarter reaches £20,000, AGK V2 will introduce 3D engine enhancements and at £25,000 (~$38,400) it will introduce "world class" bullet physics and support for enhanced collision events into the new version of its development tool.
