According to Kickstarter, "the judges were blown away" by Find Me, awarding it both the Grand Prize and Most Original Concept.
Find Me is a puzzle platformer about a dark force separating people from their shadows. You play the shadow of a young girl torn away from her human, and must navigate both "dangers and puzzles" to reunite them.
Invenio, the team behind Find Me, wrote, designed, programmed, and created all the art and music for their demo in just three weeks. You can download it on Kickstarter for PC and Mac.
By turning to crowdfunding, Invenio hopes to hire professional artists and programmers to help complete and polish up Find Me for a Q4 launch on Steam. Stretch goals include ports for iOS, Android, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
Since 2014, Girls Make Games has hosted a series of summer camps, workshops, and game jams all around the world aimed at encouraging and providing resources for young girls interested in pursuing game development.
In 2014, they raised $31,000 out of a $10,000 goal to fund The Hole Story, which launched on Steam in July 2015. Chloi Rad is an Associate Editor for IGN. Follow her on Twitter at @_chloi.
