Austin-Based Tech Company Creating a Revolutionary Lock for Outdoor Enthusiasts

goLock™ Technology launched their Kickstarter campaign today, April 7, 2016, with the goal of mass-producing a patent-pending electronic cable lock that alarms at the lock site and immediately alerts the owner of possible theft should gear be compromised. If tampered with, goLock VENTURE™ will emit a 90-decibel tone immediately. At the same time, the owner receives messages via their smartphone that their equipment or gear is potentially being stolen.
The lock will communicate with smartphones within a 300-yard radius via Bluetooth, but more importantly it will also work via cell signal so the owner can be a distance away and still be in contact with their gear. With the goLock app (free from Android or iOS) users can arm or disarm the lock and share access with friends. The app will also show battery life and signal strength.

The goLock VENTURE, with its proprietary Alarmed Guard™ smartphone-enabled technology, will be available on Kickstarter in a variety of cable lengths and thicknesses. The lock will come with a standard micro USB charger, a tie-down strap and a carrying case. The battery will last three to four days with normal use. The goLock VENTURE retail price after Kickstarter will be $199. Wireless monitoring service will be free the first 90 days, and then a nominal monthly fee thereafter.
