(KUTV) The Zyntony Ra Adventure Light is the world's first strap light, creating a whole new category of lighting for outdoor enthusiasts.

Flashlights and headlamps focus their light on a spot and are optimized for "throw". Ra is designed for "spread" to light up an area.

Unlike many LED lighting products that shine a bluish light, Ra puts out 800 lumens of warm, natural light.

Ra is typically brighter than five good quality headlamps. It is also waterproof.

Ra is versatile - can be mounted in a variety of ways. It can be strapped using Velcro strips to the shoulder straps of a backpack, bike or other objects. It has embedded magnets that allow Ra to attach to metal objects (eg, to the underside hood of your car when working under the hood).

With the accompanying MagBak (magnetic strip accessory) you can attach Ra to your jacket, snowpants or elsewhere on your clothing. The accessory kit also contains a D-Ring strap which provides other mounting options.

The BatPaks range from 4 to 16 oz (6400 mAh to 25,500 mAh) and the largest can power a single Ra at the brightest setting for about 14 hours. And over 250 hours at a low setting (50 lumens).

You can get a Ra on Kickstarter for $35 and the most popular package is a pair of Ra's and a BatPak II for $99. These are Kickstarter specials and the KS campaign closes Sat at 10am. After that you can buy them on the Zyntony website at retail prices (TBD).

The Kickstarter campaign will end THIS SATURDAY at 10 a.m.. If you're interested in funding the project, visit their website.
