Hero Master Kickstarter Spotlight

September 18th - via: everythingboardgames.com
You are Snoozehaven’s absolute worse adventurer. After all, you’re the only one from all your past parties to have returned from the various quests and adventures in one piece. For most, that would be counted as one of the best adventurers. Due to your…bungling nature, however, you’ve accidentally sprung traps on your comrades, mistakenly allowed your party to be cooked by ravenous monsters, and let’s not forget that cave-in you caused that somehow buried your entire party, yet you made it out alive. With your luck (or lack thereof), you could be the main character in your own comedy of errors. (Read More)

BeerMKR might be the perfect automatic beer brewer

September 18th - via: cnet.com
In my mind, the perfect automatic beer brewer offers prepackaged ingredients if you want an experience similar to making coffee with a Keurig -- hit a button and you're done. It should also allow you to add your own ingredients and experiment when you want to. It should take the beer from start to finish in an authentic brewing process without cutting corners and while controlling the temperature at all stages. Finally, it should be affordable. I've yet to test a beer bot that meets all of my criteria for perfection, but one could finally be on the horizon. BeerMKR launched on Kickstarter on Tuesday, and it does everything I'd hope for in an automatic beer brewer. (Read More)

Funny adventure game Darkside Detective has a Kickstarter for a sequel

September 18th - via: pcgamer.com
Traditional point-and-click games are in pretty good shape on PC these days, if you know where to look. Andy was a fan of Wadjet Eye Games' Unavowed, Pip chose The Lion's Song as her personal pick for 2017, and I had a good time with funny occult adventure Darkside Detective last year. That last one is now getting a second 'season', should it hit its modest Kickstarter target of £31,104. As I write this, developer Spooky Doorway is about to cross the halfway point. Since the crowdfunding campaign only began last week, it's looking pretty good for hitting the target. (Read More)

INTERVIEW: Greg Pak and Jonathan Coulton Get the Band Back Together for THE PRINCESS WHO SAVED HER FRIENDS Kickstarter Campaign

September 17th - via: comicsbeat.com
It all started with a pithy observation from writer Greg Pak- "Occurs to me that you could field a pretty awesome supervillain team with characters from @jonathancoulton songs." And thus was born the germ of the idea would lead to two incredible Kickstarter campaign collaborations, Code Monkey Save World, a graphic novel based on the work of cult songwriter Jonathan Coulton and The Princess Who Saved Herself, a children’s book based on another Coulton song. With both projects surpassing their initial goals within 24 hours, I think it’s fair to say Pak and Coulton did not to expect the success of this magnitude with their first outings on the crowding platform. (Read More)

The game does have some complexity, so I think the age rating is about right, though you might be able to skew a little younger with experienced gamer kids. (Read More)
