Although the plan was to send all the dresses out at once, they have put in a plea for dresses for the "Hope Project - Burma" project.  So all the dresses with sleeves as well as all shorts and t-shirts will be sent out at the end of this week. Now... (Read More)

AS a "Thank you"...

July 23rd - via: kickstarter.com
I've decided to put everyone's name who has donated on a piece of clothing - a card pinned to a dress saying "This dress was made possible by the generous donation of (insert name here)." What do you think?  :) Eliza (sewing shorts)  (Read More)

Early morning update

Warmer weather already!  Maybe it will get cold again in August when the winds blow! Warmer weather = me getting up and active early!  It's only 10 and all the animals are fed, the car is unpacked from yesterday, I finished off two little dresses... (Read More)

t-shirts

July 15th - via: kickstarter.com
I made 4 t-shirts today.  I find the smaller ones (size 5) to be very fiddily and actually take a long time.  I cut a pattern for 12 - 14 year olds and made one that size (multicoloured with bats!  photo later) and it was actually easier to make.... (Read More)

Ah, busy day!

5 dresses and a biopsy!  Don't suppose the biopsy counts, it doesn't have stitches! (a bit of surgical humour there). Was nice to get back to sewing, especially dresses.  I hadn't realised that shorts were so boring!  Up to number 57 in dresses... (Read More)

Top page!

July 12th - via: kickstarter.com
We are on the first page of Kickstart in Australia!  Not on the first screen, you have to scroll down a few rows, but we have moved up! I think that if we got a sudden influx of new donations that would push us up!  So if you can suggest to your... (Read More)

I'm probably only suppose to post possitive updates.  But I feel I must be totally honest.  So far, I've managed to sew the pockets on FIVE PAIRS OF SHORTS UPSIDE DOWN!!! I mean, one I could understand, but FIVE?   I've spent more time unpicking... (Read More)

Post verses courier

July 2nd - via: kickstarter.com
Having done some sums I've decided it's probably going to be better to use a courier then Australia Post.  I already have one of those big plastic storage boxes full, and I hope to get a packing box tomorrow so that I can start folding and packing... (Read More)

I have put some links up on my blog for patterns.  So far just links to the "pillow slip" dress.  Over the next few posts I'll put up links to other patterns, and give some tips on sewing them as well. Here is the link to my blog...... (Read More)

It's actually cold here, we must be having our one week of Winter!  I have my ugh boots on, and it's hard to sew with them on, and my fingers are cold as well, which makes fidderly things even fidderlier. I made a dress, and have started another,... (Read More)

t-shirts

June 23rd - via: kickstarter.com
Yesterday I made two little t-shirts.  They are still something I'm not too familiar with making, so they take a bit of fiddling around.  Hopefully I'll get quicker at them, and then I'll make more sizes. Pink t-shirt   Blue t-shirt  I've ordered... (Read More)

New clothes

June 22nd - via: kickstarter.com
Honestly, I didn't mean to sew today!  I was going to take a day off.  But this lovely lady gave me some strong blue cotton that is just under denim weight that would be perfect for shorts, so I had to make some.  These two pair are for bigger... (Read More)
