On Kickstarter: Project Phoenix Shoots For $1 Million, Announces Playstation 4 & PS Vita Versions

project-phoenixProject Phoenix has raised almost $850,000 on a goal of $100,000 with just under two days left in what can only be called a wildly successful Kickstarter campaign. Now developer Creative Intelligence Arts, Inc. has announced that their game will be released on the Playstation 4 and Playstation Vida.

This news comes via a backer update from last week. The team explained how any of the more than 13,000 backers can lay claim to a Ps4/Vita version of the game…

Over the past few weeks, we’ve received many messages, e-mails, and queries about the possibility of the game being released on the PS4 and PS Vita and now, after long negotiations and discussions, that wish has become a reality!  So although not every single detail about the release has been finalized, we’re proud and excited at the prospect of developing for the Playstation platform.

So what does this all mean for those of you who are interested in getting a PS4 or PS Vita version of Project Phoenix?  Well, we’re working on getting the pledge tiers ready through our Paypal donation page and will update you all accordingly when that’s up and ready!

Those who have already backed it through Kickstarter and prefer a PS4 or PS Vita version, please stay tuned to the updates page and we’ll have more information on how to make the change once we’re up and running.

project-phoenix-artProject Phoenix is described as a “fantasy themed squad-based real-time strategy game combined with Japanese RPG design influences.” The project boasts a world class, well-seasoned cast of developers, artists and composers involved in the project.

Project Phoenix is being produced by some of the greatest creative talents in the video game industry, with credits including several Final Fantasies, The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, Valkyria Chronicles, L.A. Noire, Diablo III, Halo 4, Crysis 3, and much more.  Many of us have boldly committed ourselves to this ambitious project in a creative leap of faith  with the goal of changing the direction of the Japanese game industry.

The game is to be released for Windows, Mac and Linux via Steam. PS4 and Vita versions have now been added, and an iOS/Android variant is to be available with limited functionality.

We’ll be keeping an eye on this campaign to see if it can join the list of million-dollar Kickstarters.
