Researched and written by Bob Brechin and designed by Brian Hickey, My Palitoy Story: The History of a Famous British Toy Company has arrived on the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. The book provides a comprehensive insight into one of the most iconic toy manufacturers of the 20th century.

Palitoy Limited, of Coalville, was part of the General Mills Toy Group from 1968 to 1985, and introduced toy brands such as Action Man, Tiny Tears, Pippa, Parker Games, Mainline Railways, Star Wars toys and many, many more.

Author Bob Brechin joined Palitoy the year after Action Man was launched in 1966. Bob was part of the creative team that saw the brand receive the epitaph ‘Toy of the Decade’ in 1980. As well as being a highly visual experience with many photos to enjoy, the book will take its readers through the history of Palitoy as the 20th century unfolded socially, politically and industrially, making the beautiful 256-page hardbound coffee table book an essential read for those that love toys.

Bob is well known in the Star Wars, Action Man and Action Force communities for his thoroughly researched and in-depth presentations that provide unique insights into the toy industry. Brian Hickey, meanwhile, has an excellent track record of producing books of a similar calibre to this one, with Total Action Force Volumes One and Two funded, produced and delivered in advance of their projected dates. Brian is a professional in his field with years of experience in graphic design, photography and publishing.

The Kickstarter campaign for the book offers a wide range of pledge levels, from £1-10 with no reward to £150+, which includes two copies of the book, one signed by Bob  Brechin, an A3 poster, a set of postcard prints (six postcards in a set) and a credit within the book.

The completed book, which will weigh more than 2kg, will ship from Ireland worldwide.
