In a show of unexpected success, a brand new competitive card game has just gone live on Kickstarter, Sheep in Disguise.

According to the campaign, the game is meant to be a wacky comedy experience. At some point, a bunch of wizards made disguises in order to hide sheep from dangerous predators. The problem is that these magic disguises worked too well, resulting in the entire local economy collapsing. Now, sheep are considered more valuable than gold and shepherds that manage to maintain their flock hold all the power. Now, the hunt is on all around the world for these sheep in disguise, and all the wealth and status that comes with it.

Sheep in Disguise is pitched as a competitive match-3 game. You try to collect three sheep of the same type, which then get added together as a flock, all while avoiding and counteracting enemy cards that might steal or otherwise mess up your flock. The game is made for 2-6 players Visually speaking, the artstyle is full of weird but absurd designs. This is thanks to talented character design artist being Sam Pratt, the same one behind the web comic Rustled Jimmies, which has found its own fanbase thanks to it's sense of humor.

It's definitely internet humor, but it got a chuckle out of me.

As for stretch goals, Sheep in Disguise have a lot. In addition to several monetary stretch goals, there are plenty of social media challenges including sharing various posts through Facebook and Instagram. These stretch goals will include things like fancier materials for the cards, a more elaborate box, and even additional card packs such as a NSFW pack which will include more graphic or gross cards for players to enjoy.

As for how much you'll need to invest for some of this fun, the tiers are small. $20 will get the base version of the game where the highest tier of $65 will get you the deluxe edition with all bonus expansions and additions. That latter one might be your best bet to get the most for your money since this campaign got fully funded two and a half hours since it went live and it shows no signs of slowing down any time soon.

The Kickstarter campaign for Sheep in Disguise will end on June 17
