A new edition of The Lord of the Rings-inspired roleplaying game The One Ring is being released via Kickstarter.
The second edition will launch its Kickstarter campaign on Feb. 11. The game takes place during the Third Age, the same setting as The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit novels and movies. The Kickstarter campaign will feature a new hardbound volume that contains a set of updated rules for The One Ring.
The second edition of The One Ring was created by game designer Francesco Nepitello, who also created the first edition of the game in 2011. Nepitello worked to develop the second edition of The One Ring with Free League Publishing, best known for creating popular tabletop RPGs, including ALIEN and Tales from the Loop.
A teaser trailer for the second edition of The One Ring features a party that includes hobbits and dwarves traveling through many locations from The Lord of the Rings universe. The cover to the second edition of The One Ring also features a party of adventurers in the shadow of the dark lord Sauron, who forged the One Ring.
The Kickstarter campaign for the second edition of The One Ring will launch on Feb. 11.
