As someone who plays a lot of board games, I tend to look at way too many Kickstarters. Seriously, there are like 10 new games launched almost every day. Most of them are bad, but a few stand out. Roll Camera! is one of the latter. The game looks like a fun cooperative take on filmmaking. However, it's the game's campaign that has me most intrigued.

If you've never given Kickstarter a look, one of the most-discussed features of each campaign is the stretch goals. These are new components or additions board game designers promise to add to the final product if the campaign meets certain thresholds. However, you won't get them if you get the retail version. You have to back the game.

They used to be in literally every campaign as a major selling point. However, as the industry has matured, some companies are slowly dropping the practice in favor of giving everyone all the content.

Roll Camera! takes a slightly different turn. The campaign does include one stretch goal for an awesome-looking clapper box. However, developer Keen Bean is letting backers upgrade the games by voting. Basically, the campaign gives fans three choices each day for upgrades that represent different scenes from a movie. By the end of the campaign, you'll have built a full-length film and a fully upgraded version of the game for everyone.

It's a neat way to run a campaign that I can't recall seeing before. Plus, the dice-chucking co-op gameplay looks like a good bit of fun. Personally, Roll Camera! seems like it would slide perfectly into my collection as something to play when my group doesn't want a cutthroat game of The Networks.

Roll Camera! is available on Kickstarter for 27 more days at the time of this writing.
