Cyber Knights: Flashpoint is the name of the game coming from the folks at Trese Brothers Games. It's the same studio that brought us games like Star Traders: Frontiers and Templar Battleforce. Cyber Knights: Flashpoint is the second game from Trese Brothers Games that lands on Kickstarter, which suggests that the studio wishes to remain independent and involve the community in their projects.

With just four days left until the end of the Kickstarter campaign, Cyber Knights: Flashpoint has already been funded and surpassed several stretch goals already. The game is developed for PC (Windows, Mac, Linux) and mobile (Android, iOS), but it won't come out until next year.

Cyber Knights: Flashpoint is a turn-based squad tactics RPG set in a dystopian cyberpunk future where the world has been ravaged by environmental disasters provoked by humanity. With the creation of the artificial consciousness, megacorporate colonies and research stations have started to colonize the solar system from Venus to Jupiter.

Gameplay-wise, Cyber Knights: Flashpoint draws inspiration from classic turn-based games in the genre. Each member of your party brings their own special abilities, weapons and ammo loadout to the fight. You can pick up to 6 specialists from your team of hired mercs, and based on their mix of jobs, talents, cybernetic implants, as well as customized weapons, you'll find ways to outgun and destroy the enemy to complete the mission.

As your criminal career becomes “famous,” your enemies will be increasingly sophisticated and coordinated, so the quicker you end a fight the higher the chances to successfully complete a mission.

It's also worth noting that the game features a gridless movement system meant to maximize the options for better-looking environment design. Moreover, by removing the gird, the developers added both precise control over characters' movement and positioning, as well as challenging sight lines and cover mechanics.

Cyber Knights” Flashpoint will use a mission system that combines both hand-crafted and procedurally-generated content to create not just highly replayable missions, but also a more immersive gameplay experience.

After the private alpha is complete, Cyber Knights: Flashpoint will enter Steam Early Access. Immediately after the game is launched in 2021, developers will start working on the mobile version. Trese Brothers Games is also considering a console port, but that will highly depend on the success of the Kickstarter campaign.
