The pi-top [4] allows you to code and program on the move thanks to its 5-hour internal battery life. The device comes with 14 electronic components including LEDs, buttons and programmable sensors, while it even works with an optional 2-in-1 screen and keyboard or an Advanced Vehicle Kit (AVK). The pi-top [4] is available to order on Kickstarter now for US$199 and will shop in November having already reached its US$100,000 funding goal.

The pi-top [4] is a programmable computing module that pi-top claims is for "makers, creators and innovators". Specifically, the company has built the device around a Raspberry Pi 4 with 4 GB of RAM and has added cooling system, along with a 5-hour internal battery for powering the pi-top [4] away from the mains.

Pi-top has incorporated a small screen too, on which you can display sensor data, system information or even some retro games. The pi-top [4] comes with 14 electronic components, including LEDs, buttons and programmable sensors, all of which are magnetic and attach via a bottom plate that interfaces with the device. There are even some LEGO connectors too should you wish to build a fun project.

The pi-top [4] can be programmed with another computer, smartphone or tablet and works with Further, which pi-top calls a "social marking platform". This appears to be some sort of community forum, with advice and answers on how to make various projects. Pi-top also sells a Surface-esque 2-in-1, to which you can attach the pi-top [4] to its kickstand. The 2-in-1 has an 11.6-inch Full HD display and a detachable Bluetooth keyboard.

The pi-top [4] can currently be ordered from Kickstarter for US$199, with which you will also receive a 16 GB SD card, 14 pi-top component modules, a component case and one Foundation Plate for connecting them to the device. The 2-in-1 costs an additional US$150, while the Advanced Vehicle Kit (AVK) costs a further US$50. The AVK comes with a host of components, a screenshot of which we have included below. The pi-top [4] Kickstarter campaign has already reached its US$100,000 funding goal, with pi-top aiming to ship worldwide in November.
