Kicking off our list of the best upcoming Xbox One game releases for June 2019 is a Kickstarter darling.

It’s been a long time coming but the spiritual successor to the classic Castlevania games by Koji Igarashi, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, is finally coming out this June.

There have been a few appetizers to this main course that Symphony of the Night fans have been able to snack on like the spin-off Curse of the Moon, but Ritual of the Night is the big one that backers have been waiting for.

Bloodstained aims to be everything that Metroidvania fans have been wanting to see and then some.

Expect at the very least classic gameplay with a sleek visual style that’s retro-looking but with all the modern trimmings to make it look sharp.

Hope that not only does it end up being a worthy spiritual successor, it’s also an evolution of the genre spearheaded by the man who helped make it popular to begin with.
