Sweet ‘N Savory owner holds Kickstarter meeting for second location

LELAND, NC (WWAY)–Brunswick County residents are excited another restaurant could be coming to Leland.

When some Leland residents heard, Sweet ‘N’ Savory was asking for support they jumped up to the call to action. Earlier Tuesday evening, owner Robert Shapiro hosted a community meeting to discuss the crowd sourcing plan to build the second location.

Gerry Sunderland lives in Leland and he says he’s a huge fan of the restaurant and the Kickstarter program.

“That to me is kind of innovative, it’s a nice way to kind of help the community get involved, as well as, ease the burden on the risk that the owners are going to take because restaurants are very risky businesses,” said Sunderland.

The restaurant’s goal is $450,000 by June 9th.

COO Lorraine Barns says this will be a community restaurant providing service, quality, and consistency like they’ve done at their Wrightsville Beach location.
