Heads-up: The 'Veronica Mars' Kickstarter ends today
If you've been meaning to donate a few bucks to the beloved Veronica Mars movie project, you only have a few hours left.
The Kickstarter, supported by series creator Rob Thomas, star Kristen Bell and many other cast members, has raised more than $5 million. That's a Kickstarter record (by a mile) — and the campaign is closing in on the record for the most Kickstarter supporters.
"We have the funds now to make a rockin' movie for you guys," Bell says in a new video. The actress, who gave birth to a daughter a mere two weeks ago, adds that Mars supporters, aka "Marshmallows," "are the coolest group of fans anyone could ever hope to have. I've always known it, Rob's always known it, and now you guys proved it to the world."
While many of the bigger incentives are gone (like a part in the movie and tickets to the premiere), several smaller ones are left, like personalized voicemail messages, signed movie posters and T-shirts.
The Kickstarter ends at 11 p.m. ET. The flick goes into production this summer, and the gang has already booked a trip to Comic-Con.
