Veronica Mars Movie Kickstarter Updates Include More Comic Con Details

Among the recent updates to the Veronica Mars movie Kickstarter page is the announcement that the project managed to cross the $5 million mark. With just one day left to go in the Kickstarter campaign, the film is very close to breaking the record for most supporters on a single Kickstarter project. Those fans who want to be a part of that, and have their name on the movie's official website as well need only to pledge $1. Of course, if you pledge more, you get more, like a T-shirt, the film on DVD, a poster and some other available loot that varies based on the pledge.

Following confirmation that Veronica Mars will be at Comic Con in San Diego this summer, Thomas shared an update with backers on what's been planned and what's still in the works. In terms of the movie's official Comic Con presence, they're still working with organizers to see if they'll be holding an official, scheduled panel. So that's unconfirmed at this point. They will be at the Warner Bros. booth for autograph signings.

Meanwhile, even those who don't have and SDCC pass this year will have the opportunity to see the cast, watch an exclusive Q&A and screen footage from the movie. They're setting up a private event in San Diego at "an intimate theatrical venue" in the Gaslamp district, near the Convention Center. It's scheduled for July 19, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. So even if there isn't an official panel at SDCC, they'll be there. But the event will be first come, first served. The entire event is going to be recorded, so those backers who aren't able to get there will get to see what they missed.

So, it sounds like the film has some exciting things in store for Comic Con, which is excellent news.

In related news, a new incentive has been added to the pledges. Anyone who contributes $10 or more will get some sweet stickers!

The designs are still being finalized, but they should look something like that. I have something to admit. I love stickers. I love them like Veronica Mars loves unicorns. "What, Dad? Girls are crazy about unicorns!."
