A local kickstarter is creating organizational products made by women, for women
When Marissa Grootes started her company STIL, it began with the vision of creating organizational products that were designed by women, for women.
Her own love for organization began when she was just 10 years old, collecting decorative paper that she would use for her own planner covers.
Fast forward to 2018 and Grootes has been maintaining that same vision for the past two years.
It’s what she calls being a “direct-to-conversation” brand, an evolution of being direct-to-consumer. For her, it’s a meaningful way of working side by side with her own customers.
“Before we design anything new, we have to have meaningful conversations with our customers first,” Grootes explains.

As such, her customers are involved in everything from testing product to voting on designs, to choosing the intricacies of the materials.
To this day, STIL remains a one-woman show. Just several weeks ago, the company managed to fully fund it’s second successful Kickstarter campaign in under 48 hours.
The company’s newest product is their three-piece Moderna organizational kit – designed with the intention of spending less time with your hands in your bag and more time getting things done.

They’ve also expanded their online stationary line with a selection of notebooks, notepads, pens, stickers, post-it notes, and desk accessories, with the ability to create custom-branded stationary for larger companies.
