The rise in board games continues as Horizon Zero Dawn becomes the latest video game to make the switch to cardboard and miniatures.

Fallout, Dark Souls and This War of Mine are some of the most recent successes to receive the transformation and it is becoming a growing trend.

Horizon Zero Dawn has already made over £750k with 19 days still remaining of the Kickstarter, but it still has some way to go to beat the current tabletop record of £12.3m which was raised for Kingdom Death: Monster in January 2018.

You can now back the game for £100, with shipping being charged after the Kickstarter has ended, but backers won’t get their hands on the game until at least March 2020.

It is a co-operative tactical game for 1-4 players which is set to include deep tactical combat and meaningful choices throughout.

Players take the role of one of four hunters who each have their own strengths and weaknesses and they will face a variety of enemies.

The game includes over 110 miniatures as well as various cards, tokens and other components.

Some of the miniatures in the game include hunters, watchers, grazers and sawtooths.

All backers will also receive two expansions for the game – The Sacred Land and The Lawless Badlands.

Both expansions include more miniatures and various other extra items that aren’t needed for the core game but add a number of variants for gameplay.

You can back the board game now on Kickstarter but you only have until Friday 28 September 2018.
