MANOR Crescent artist Lyndsey Keppel-Green is looking to promote awareness of endangered animals through her first book.

Lyndsey hopes to fund the publication of the ‘A-Z of Feliforma’ through online platform Kickstarter.

She has launched the campaign to fund the production of an illustrated alphabet of Feliformia, the ‘cat like’ sub-order of meat-eating mammals (Carnivora).

‘A-Z of Feliforma’ is a 32-page book featuring 26 illustrations of different feliforms from beautiful big cats to the bizarre binturong.

Lyndsey’s work aims to promote awareness of endangered animals and caring for the environment.

The book includes interesting facts about each animal as well as their status on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species which indicates how endangered they are.

“This has been a project I have been working on and off on for a few years, and I am really excited to launch the Kickstarter and hopefully see the book published in the autumn,” Lyndsey said.

“My hope is that as well as enjoying the book it will remind people that there are so many species under threat of extinction and the importance of conservation and protecting our wildlife, both at home and across the world.”

Of the 26 feliforms featured nine are either vulnerable, endangered or critically endangered including the Amur Leopard, the rarest big cat in the world of which less than 100 are known to be exist.
