28mm plastic pieces come pre-assembled

The Walking Dead: All Out War, Kings of War and Dungeon Saga creator Mantic is back on Kickstarter – but, this time, it’s not a new game that the publisher is hoping will catch the interest of tabletop fans.

Instead, it’s a range of scenery and terrain pieces designed for use with fantasy RPGs and miniature wargames called TerrainCrate.

The sets come in three flavours, comprising a variety of 3D bits for dungeon, battlefield and town environments at a 28mm scale. The coloured plastic pieces arrive pre-assembled and can be used out of the box.

As well as the $75 (£58) themed crates, Mantic has plans to bring out specific sets set around certain locations, including a campsite, abandoned mine, tavern and wizard’s study, for $30 (£23) next year. Shipping is expected to be around $6 (£5) for a single crate to the UK.

TerrainCrate has already raised close to $225,000 (£173,826) on its initial $75,000 (£57,942) budget, which it passed within 90 minutes of the campaign starting. There’s 16 days left to run on the Kickstarter.
