Hillary Clinton Supporters Launch Kickstarter to Send a Hardcover Book of Letters to Her Door

The project has already raised thousands of dollars after going live on Kickstarter on Wednesday.

Hillary Clinton may be gone from the public eye, but for many she's far from forgotten. And a supporter has launched a Kickstarter campaign to design and publish a book of letters to Clinton, with the proceeds going to Planned Parenthood.

The project, which has a location listed of Richmond, Va. and a mailing address in Williamsburg, has 48 backers and has raised $3,670 of a goal of $10,000 as of Friday morning. That's a pretty good start considering the campaign started on Wednesday.

"Like many others, I've been totally overwhelmed with emotion these past few days, and I've seen so many heartfelt messages all over social media," said the creator, Merin Rogers-Curotto, on the Kickstarter page. "I don't want these stories to get lost, and because of that I am trying to raise support to collect letters and publish them in a hardcover book. Proceeds from the book (and any overages in donations) will go to Planned Parenthood."

She added that the aim is to have the book delivered to Hillary Clinton herself. The hardcover book would also be available to other supporters and can "sit in our homes as an homage to Hillary and the generations of men and women she inspired in 2016," Rogers-Curotto said.

A Tumblr site called "Letters to Hillary" is not associated with this Kickstarter campaign, the campaign page notes.

You can pay between $15 and $250 for the book, with $15 getting you the basic Letters to Hillary journal and $250 getting you the full works: the journal, a mug, a hardcover copy of the book and a special acknowledgement in the book. You don't have to donate anything to send in a letter for publication, however.
