Monolith’s second miniatures title stars Olympian gods

Monolith, the tabletop start-up behind the board game adaptation of Conan, has announced its second project.

Mythic Battles: Pantheon is a miniatures game starring the gods and heroes of ancient Greece, such as Zeus, Hades, Athena and Odysseus.

The Olympians will face off against (or draft into their own army) legendary monsters including Medusa, Cerberus and the Hydra in series of battles, which can also take place as part of longer campaigns.

The two- to four-player game takes around an hour to an hour and a half to play and includes mechanics spanning card management, dice rolling and tactical combat.

The hard plastic miniatures look impressive, scaling from human-sized troops to the gigantic titans and beasts, with gods measuring 65mm tall. Each character has a dedicated ‘dashboard’ play mat outlining their stats and skills, which can change over the course of a game.

$99 nabs the core box, plus the Kickstarter-exclusive Apollo figure and cards, and any stretch goals unlocked during the campaign. Mythic is due for release in December 2017.
