Bulkhead Interactive's "Battalion 1944," has no release date just yet but recently received double the amount in funds via Kickstarter and the developers now want to expand the budget even more, according to PlayStation Lifestyle.

The initial target for the campaign was set at £100,000, which Bulkhead managed to reach in just three days. The developer now has over £245,400 worth of funds. The World War II, first person shooter game's developer has not revealed the specific details of their stretch goals to fans.

"Stretch goals are just around the corner," shared the developer. "We've had them planned for a while, and we're sticking to our original plan. We don't do empty promises at Bulkhead; which is why we are working on in-game assets to show you all exactly what we're working towards before we announce all of 'Battalion 1944's' stretch goals."

It's clear that the game is a hit on Kickstarter and it's inspired by games like, "Medal of Honor" and "Call of Duty 2," shared Destructoid.

Bulkhead Interactive has spent £100,000 of its own money, which got the game off the ground. According to the developer, "the multiplayer shooter aims to capture the "core of classic multiplayer shooters" while using the "most advanced industry technology."

"Battalion 1944" and its release date, is highly anticipated and fans are asking a lot of questions about the game.

"Will there be any way to call in artillery, air strikes?" asked Reddit user Swooooooon. On the other hand, V**inalFury wrote, "I can't wait anymore. How exactly can I get access to the earliest version?"

Fans can have a guaranteed copy of the game, if they pledge at least £15 or $21. There are other rewards and pledge tiers that can be seen on their Kickstarter page, reported GameSpot.

"Battalion 1944's" release date will reportedly be on May 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
