Foam Studio is made up of a team of developers who have worked on a number of popular games such as LittleBigPlanet, Ratchet & Clank, and more. In order for their new project, Knights and Bikes to officially make its way into development, the studio has launched a Kickstarter campaign that you can check out here.

Its Kickstarter page includes a cool new trailer which will give you an insight into exactly what to expect from Knights and Bikes. Foam Studios states the game draws inspiration from “The Goonies, Earthbound and Secret of Mana” and the developer’s childhoods.

In Knights and Bikes, you will play as Nessa and Demelza on their quest for the truth behind the medieval legends of Penfurzy, an island on the fast track to financial ruin and destruction. You’ll have to recruit a part of creatures from all walks of life, enlist and inspire defeated islanders, and then set off on an adventure to find the hero that the island desperately needs.

You’ll use your bikes to explore the island, and your frisbees to defeat enemies. Oh, and Demelza has a pet goose called Captain Honkers who will be there to accompany you on your adventure. The game has a visual style very similar to that of Tearaway, which is a great style to match its charming protagonists and gameplay mechanics.

Knights and Bikes is currently confirmed for PC, Mac and Linux currently, but the page does state it will be updated if this changes to include other confirmed platforms.

The game’s Kickstarter campaign is asking for £100,000 and is currently sitting at £3952. It still has 30 days left of its campaign so there’s plenty of time to reach its goal.
