Ex-Gas Powered Games staff form Kickstarter for turn-based roguelike Crayon Chronicles

Has nearly funded its modest $5000 goal.

Ex-Gas Powered Games animator Paul Zimmer was let go of the Washington-based Studio after its Wildman Kickstarter was unsuccessful, but he's used this time to work on his side-project, the light-hearted roguelike Crayon Chronicles, which has recently launched a Kickstarter of its own.

Developed by Outer Grid Games co-founders Zimmer and Justin Clark along with two other industry vets (including ex-Gas Powered Games composer Howard Mostrom), Crayon Chronicles is a single-player exclusive turn-based RPG that should only take about two to four hours per playthrough, but its randomly generated nature encourages repeat visits.

Crayon Chronicles has been in development for over three years and now it's at its final push and just needs a final coat of spit and polish before it can make the leap to PC and XBLIG.

The first 500 backers to pledge a measly $1 will get a digital copy of the game upon release. Slow pokes will be able to receive the game for a still scant $2.

Crayon Chronicles is due out on PC and XBLIG in May. Mac and Linux versions might be on the table too if Outer Grid meets its yet-to-be-set stretch goal.

The Crayon Chronicles Kickstarterr is currently at $4,287 towards its $5,000 goal with 23 days to go before the 1st April deadline.
