Inkkas Successfully Crowdfunds for Flagship Store

Inkkas, a Brooklyn-based footwear brand, achieved 100 percent funding on Kickstarter in less than an hour to help the brand open its first retail store in New York. The sneaker company raised 676 percent past its original goal.

With the financial support of the brand’s fans, Inkkas is now turning a pop-up on Franklin Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn into a permanent brick-and-mortar location. As a reward for participating, Inkkas is offering backers the exclusive chance to order upcoming styles from the Inkkas Spring ’16 collection, as well as discounts on Inkkas’ Classic collection.

Inkkas is inspired by local artisans across the world and sells a line of handcrafted textile sneakers on its website and in national retailers including Whole Foods, J. Crew and Forever 21. The company has previously launched two successful crowdfunding campaigns, raising over $200,000 in support for the brand.
