Some games are beautiful and some are just drop dead gorgeous. I’m not saying that the graphics for XING are the best that I’ve seen but it comes pretty damn close. And the developers keep on improving their techniques as the game continues to evolve. The vast majority of the landscapes are already locked in, which makes things like puzzles easier to implement, and I have to say that I’m incredibly impressed by the screenshots they leaked in the latest update.

XING

XING is all about exploration and taking in the atmosphere, so it should stand to reason that the majority of resources should go towards making sure the graphics engine is as robust and able to run beautifully on any machine no matter how low the settings are tweaked down to. In fact, the update also gives plenty of comparison shots based on the various filters applied to the environment.

XING

I backed XING purely on the artwork and the Myst-like feel of the game and the demo back then proved that they’ve got what it takes. I look forward to getting my hands on the finished product when it’s ready to ship.
