Creator of Kickstarter Hit Potato Salad Preps For PotatoStock By Heading to Idaho For Cooking Classes

Potato Salad

While making preparations for the upcoming PotatoStock event in Columbus, creator of Potato Salad crowdfunding campaign shared he has traveled to Idaho to participate in VIP cooking lessons.

According to a local report, Zach Brown had a chance to see the biggest potato in the “Gem” state, carried on a six-ton truck brought to Boise Airport as a welcome surprise.

Brown noted, “I’m going to guess it’s the world’s first potato salad theme event. For the world’s first potato salad themed event, I wanted the best potato salad, and for the best potato salad I need the best potatoes, so I’m here to get Idaho potatoes.”

As previously reported, Brown originally set out to raise just $10 on Kickstarter. Almost immediately the campaign hit the spotlight and raised over $55,00 from 6,911 backers. The creator decided to put the funds towards hosting a free festival called PotatoStock, which will be held in Columbus on Saturday September 27th. All proceeds from the event will be donated to help the homeless population in Central Ohio, specifically to the Columbus Foundation.

Brown shared, “This will create a permanent fund to help Central Ohio’s non-profit end hunger and homelessness. These types of funds gain interest every year and grow over time, so, while our little Internet joke will one day be forgotten, the impact will be felt forever. If you can get to PotatoStock, you get your bite of potato salad!”
