Securifi, the company that delivered the world's first touch-screen router, Almond, today unveiled Almond+, a color touch-screen router with an integrated Smart Home hub.

The router portion of Almond+ is 802.11ac dual band wireless, while the smart hub provides home automation. With the Smart Hub and supported appliances and technologies, users can remotely perform home-management tasks such as turning on or off heating systems and lights, or receive notification of potential security breaches such as someone opening a window or door.

Almond+ features plug-n-play connectivity, a 2.8-inch, 320-by-240-pixel color touch screen for easy, computer-free setup, and the Smart Hub integrates with Zigbee and Z-Wave technologies. An app for both iOS and Android lets users access and control the Almond+ from anywhere.

"We are creating a revolutionary new wireless router that is simple to use, features the fastest possible connectivity speeds and delivers the ultimate home-automation experience to help make people's lives easier and their world a smarter place," said Rammohan Malasani, founder and CEO of Securifi. "Ever since the introduction of Wi-Fi more than a decade ago, the way most of us interact with this technology hasn't changed much at all. We are confident that the market is ready."

Almond+ has no shipping date as of yet. Securifi is launching a Kickstarter campaign for support in perfecting and launching Almond+, the company hopes to reach a funding goal of $250,000.
