Warhorse Studio Launches PayPal Campaign for “Kingdom Come: Deliverance”

Hoping to get more support for its latest project, Czech software company Warhouse Studio launched its self-crowdfunding campaign for their forthcoming game “Kingdom Come: Deliverance. The video game has already impressed the gamers and has racked up more than $1.8 million on Kickstarter this past February and now the developer has announced fans will be able to help raise $2 million through PayPal.

“Kingdom Come: Deliverance” is a first-person RPG that takes you to Warhorse StudiosMedieval Europe during a time of war and struggle. The character is a young blacksmith who has lost everything and tries to fulfill his father’s dying wish. In order to stop the bloodbath, he must find and saved a kidnapped king. The player will encounter several enemies along the way including a rogue knight. The story was created by Daniel Vávra, an award-winning designer from the “Mafia” series.

In order to get the project to continue, Warhouse Studio is asking for $2,000,000 from its already 35k backers. According to them, “Our game is being developed without the aid of traditional publishers, so it relies on [the backer’s] support and funding from private investors. Originally we tried to approach publishers, but they refused to finance [the] project [because] they considered [it] to be too risky and niche.”

Kingdom Come: Deliverance“After two years of development without finding a published to finance us, it seemed that we would have to close doors. So we tried our last chance and started a Kickstarter campaign. And it turned out that our game is anything niche. We raised $1.82 million within one month and the response from gamers and media was awesome.”

In exchange for supporting the game, Warhouse promises the backer will get a chance to influence the design of the game and play an early access version. It will also offer two physical and four digital tiers with more in the future.  The game is expect to launch late next year and will be available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, although the next generation consoles may be delayed.
