Don't Know What to Cook Tonight? Roll the Dice.

October 5th - via: foodnewsdevoured.com
Kickstarter, the pantheon of crowd-funding and home to all the most creative indie artists, startups, tinkerers, and geek gurus, is also a great place to get your foodie idea funded. For those that aren't familiar, Kickstarter exists for those of us with great ideas but without the funding or backing to see those ideas to reality. So you make a video, set a goal, make a list of perks for backers, and wait! Some things do better than others, of course. There seems to be a natural predisposition on Kickstarter for tech-funding; the first project to break one-million dollars was a watch mount for the old iPod Nano. Even within the 'Food' category, not one, not two, but three of the top five most funded projects are for sous vide circulators for your home. (sous vide is the modern art of cooking something slowly in water, kept at an exact temperature, usually in plastic bags. These gadgets are actually pretty cool looking, I'd love to get one! Check them out here, and here.) (Read More)
