Hey, bad things happen to the best of us. Don't worry, the gnomes have been dispatched. Maybe try again in a little while.

Wrapping things up (here, at least)

November 23rd - via: kickstarter.com
Well, if we can raise $3k/ minute for the next 112 minutes, we'll hit our goal. :P Seriously, though... We're clearly not going to do that, but neither are we going to say "oh, poor us, we're not willing to do it the hard way".  Because, y'know, we... (Read More)

Contributor Website, V2

November 17th - via: kickstarter.com
Since putting the Contributor website out, I've received a number of requests to allow backers (and potential backers) to actually play with the site and create stuff, rather than just being able to "look around"... To that end, I've made some... (Read More)

New Version of the Contributor Site

November 11th - via: kickstarter.com
First, a quick apology: I haven't put out an update for a while, and I'm sorry - I've been working steadily and haven't been neglecting the Kickstarter effort, but I have been waiting on a few things, and haven't been able to announce anything... (Read More)

Help Make A Game With The Greatest Star Wars Writer Of Our Time

November 6th - via: kotaku.com
There are only a handful of people who have ever made something as Star Warsy as the original trilogy felt. A handful of Lucasarts games like Dark Forces, maaaybe some comics, and the books of author Timothy Zahn. Who, it turns out, now wants to make a video game. Not a Star Wars game, but still. We're listening. (Read More)

Treat #1: The Backer Referral ProgramI mentioned this in my previous update, but didn't go into too much detail.  So, a description, and then some questions that I've gotten... The referral program is pretty straightforward: if you refer someone and... (Read More)

Before I get started, a quick announcement: we've added a beta access add-on for anyone that wants it, but hasn't pledged to get the Contributor reward (just add $20 to your current pledge), and we're also doing a referral program - check the... (Read More)

The Making of Timothy Zahn’s PARALLAX Game

October 29th - via: sfsignal.com
I’ve always loved Master of Orion. Even before I started programming, I’ve wanted to do something similar. The original was great, and I’m one of the smaller percentage of people that think it was even better than the sequel (apparently, nobody really liked the third one). I’ve got the original on my laptop right now – a $6 copy I got from GOG.com and that I run on DOSBox – and I’ve still got a dog-eared copy of the instruction booklet from when I first bought the game, too. (Read More)

Yes, it's quality over quantity in this issue of The Funding Crowd. Enjoy! (Read More)

Sharing the Love

Another reminder - check for Early-Bird specials

October 24th - via: kickstarter.com
There are quite a few backers who have pledged for the regular tiers instead of the early-bird versions.  The extra pledge amount does help out the Kickstarter, but it doesn't reward you for being one of our early supporters:  I count 5... (Read More)

Dynamic Solar System Proof-of-Concept

October 23rd - via: kickstarter.com
So the proof-of-concept demo is all packaged up and ready to play with.  But first, a few caveats: This was just a proof of concept that creates random names and solar systems, and throws them up on the screen...  there's not a lot of functionality... (Read More)
