Kickstarter Game Developer Haiku Collection

September 2nd - via: cliqist.com
It’s a bit of a tradition that whenever I interview someone for Cliqist I ask them to put together a brief haiku to describe them, their company, or their game. Since we’re celebrating the one year anniversary of Cliqist this week I figure it would be as good a time as any to look back at some of them. All the haiku’s were written by the person being interviewed, and are listed in the order in which they appeared on the site. Some are great, some not so much, but each is interesting in its own right. (Read More)

The Greenlight Groove: Stardust Vanguards, 39 Days to Mars, Parcel and More

June 29th - via: wraithkal.info
It’s a fact that many Steam users don’t check or even notice most Greenlight additions. There are simply too many, making it rather time consuming. Hoping to alleviate this problem somewhat, I bring you The Greenlight Groove, featuring my recommendations from the past week! (Read More)

Checking in on 39 Days To Mars

June 18th - via: cliqist.com
Philip Buchanan has been hard at work on the upcoming survival-puzzle game 39 Days to Mars, complete with a specialized engine and plenty of work to show off for the past couple months. Most recently, we got to take a look inside some new artwork and animation reels of the game’s in-game engine, and it’s really something you have to see. (Read More)

39 Days to Mars: Interview with Developer Philip Buchanan

February 18th - via: dialogwheel.com
While I love sinking my teeth into a really meaty, long game, I don’t have the time to devote to gaming that I once did (How, how did I play more than 100 hours on Pokemon Yellow?). Now I find myself drawn to games with shorter play time, or that I can pick up and play without too much effort. So I was delighted when a friend pointed me towards a game called 39 Days to Mars, which is currently being Kickstarted. (Read More)

Philip Buchanan Talks 39 Days To Mars

February 13th - via: cliqist.com
Not all crowdfunding projects are $200,000 funding behemoths from industry vets. Much of the time they’re smaller projects with much less aggressive funding goals from small teams; case in point, 39 Days to Mars. A new adventure project from indie developer Philip Buchanan, 39 Days to Mars is a coffee break adventure title with a modest $1,000 funding goal, meant to be played for brief periods of time. Players will take control of a pair of 19th century steampunk space explorers as they try to stay alive in the unforgiving world of that is turn of the century space travel. (Read More)

Fly to the red planet with a steam powered rocket in 39 Days to Mars

February 8th - via: pcgamesn.com
You might not think much happened in 1876. Sure, it was a leap year, which is always a little exciting. And let’s not forget that it’s the year Melvil Dewey first published the Dewey Decimal Classification system, Alexander Graham Bell patented the telephone, and two men flew to Mars in their steam powered rocket. (Read More)

A Steampunk Adventure To Mars

February 3rd - via: cliqist.com
I’m no scientist, but it’s obvious that the scientific accuracy of 39 Days To Mars is questionable to say the least. Cosmos with Neil deGrasse Tyson doesn’t air for another month, and I haven’t heard talk of an episode covering space travel using steam powered engines. However, there’s little doubt that the game is very attractive artistically speaking. The trailer has a very Beeswing vibe to it; it’s cute, full of wonder, and just a little melancholy. (Read More)
