Forrest Dowling on Survival Sim, The Flame in the Flood

October 19th - via: cliqist.com
It’s not unusual for there to be a glut of survival sims hit Kickstarter in the fall, but the quality of them this year has been impressive. Case in point, The Flame in the Flood by startup developers The Molasses Flood. Helmed by Forrest Dowling, one of the primary figures behind Bioshock Infinite, The Flame in the Flood is a survival game the likes of which we haven’t seen yet. To get more details on the game, and its wildly successful Kickstarter campaign we had a brief chat with Forrest. (Read More)

Weekly Launchpad. What Videogame Kickstarters Launched Oct 5th – 11th?

October 12th - via: cliqist.com
Every week we take a brief look at all of the Kickstarter campaigns that launched in the previous week. This isn’t to say that all of these projects are worth your hard earned cash, but with any luck having all of them in one place will make it easier to educate yourself on the projects you’d like to back, and which ones to run from. You’ll find two types of campaigns listed, “featured” and “the rest“. Featured campaigns are those that contain a significant amount of game information, are from known developers, or are significant in some other way. The rest of the games are usually smaller campaigns that are lacking in information, are from unknowns, have unanswered questions, or have not yet stood out for one reason or another. (Read More)

Some of the developers from the now disbanded studio Irrational Games have set up shop on their own and have just launched a Kickstarter campaign for their first game, The Flame in the Flood. It's off to a good start as well, and has attracted $50k of their $150k target in just one day. Forage, craft, evade predators" - is heading to PC and Mac. (Read More)

Ex-Irrational Devs Go Rogue in The Flame in the Flood

October 7th - via: cliqist.com
After Ken Levine announced the “winding down” of Irrational Games, much of the staff was forced to seek out new jobs. As we’ve seen earlier this week, some teamed up to create Day for Night Games. That developer is currently Kickstarting The Black Glove. Now we see that another bunch of talented former Irrational Games’ (also Harmonix, Bungie) team members formed The Molasses Flood. Their team has also arrived on Kickstarter this week to fund The Flame in the Flood. (Read More)
