Devolver Digital has agreed a publishing partnership with Jay Tholen for his clown-based adventure Dropsy. The game, which began life as an Internet forum collaboration, is currently completing a successfully funded Kickstarter campaign, thus far raising $20,000 on a $14,000 target. (Read More)

Few things scare me more than clowns and as much as I find the protagonist of Dropsy to be unsettling, the game itself is also admittedly rather charming. This is a point-and-click adventure which emphasizes exploration, and visual storytelling over written dialog. The game has been going strong on Kickstarter -- enough that funding is locked in, with four days remaining -- and now publisher Devolver Digital has announced its involvement with the project. (Read More)

Dropsy isn’t your normal adventure game. This open world adventure game stars a curious looking clown that’s fallen on rough times since being kicked out of the circus after a horrific accident. Dropsy isn’t loved by all, he doesn’t speak, he has a burning desire to hug everyone he meets, and his inventory is kept in his pants. Dropsy is a clown. A very, um, not nice looking clown. I think I love him. He has a puppy and he draws his own, poorly painted face on everything – including said loyal canine companion. TV and my nightmares tell me that ours is a world full of sad clowns just trying to get by/devour my heart with crooked, yellow teeth, but Dropsy is an irrepressibly joyful clown in a sad situation. (Read More)
