Capsules.io integrates digital content directly into the physical world using GPS-based virtual containers

May 29th - via: talkandroid.com
We are all used to saving our digital content on our desktops, our phones, or even in the cloud, but wouldn’t it be cool to also drop content based on specific GPS locations? That is exactly what Capsules.io is. Created by the very well know Android developer, Wug Fresh, these capsules are virtual containers that can be “placed” anywhere you want and hold any type of files you wish. These include pictures, messages, videos, music, or even websites. You can even restrict access to certain people or make it password protected. (Read More)

UPDATE: Capsules.io Explained

May 29th - via: droidforums.net
Earlier today we announced an exciting new project from developer "wugfresh" and the Capusules.io team. This ambitious new project is being crowdfunded on Kickstarter. It seeks to bring a digital experience to the physical world. The kickstarter page paints a pretty exciting picture for the future of this new project. After speaking with "Wugfresh" for a bit I decided it would be a good idea to share with you what he had to say. In many of the pictures you can see a physical orb floating in mid air. People walk up to the orb and it unlocks digital content, but how could something like this work? It seems like something out of a futuristic blockbuster! (Read More)

[Exclusive] Capsules.io on KickStarter - Digital Content in Physical Locations

May 28th - via: droidforums.net
We have an exciting story to share with you guys today! Wugfresh, one of our amazing developers here at DroidForums.net, just launched a KickStarter project for a very impressive idea. It's called Capsules.io, and its concept aims to blur the lines between our digital world and the physical one. He and his team have been working on this project for a year now, and it's an intriguing take on the idea that we can interact with digital objects based upon our physical location in the world. Capsules.io uses GPS-positioned virtual containers, called capsules. These capsules can be dropped at any real world location, with the intent to create a virtual exclusive community based upon proximity access. (Read More)
