Resin-Based 3-D Printer Adds $290K With Second Kickstarter Campaign

Inventor Michael Joyce has developed a 3-D printer that uses an off-the-shelf data projector to create amazingly complex and detailed models instead of displaying tedious PowerPoint slides. Now he's brought his product, the B9 Creator, back to Kickstarter for a second successful campaign with over $290,000 in pledges following a $514,422 haul from June 2012. (Read More)

Nearly a year ago, the 3D printing scene saw a few new printers based on a technology other than squirting plastic out of a nozzle. These printers used DLP projectors underneath a vat of UV curing resin to build objects one layer at a time with incredible resolution. (Read More)
